CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Chattanooga Police say they worked through the night to arrest  six people, four adults and two juveniles, on numerous counts of robbery including the assault of an 86 year old blind female victim.

The break came early Thursday at 2:30am when officers investigated reports of a home invasion at 3200 Dodds Avenue. The victim told police several men forced their way into the home, demanding money at gun point. Officers surrounded the area and stopped four suspects walking down the street who matched the victim's description.

Officers searched the suspects and found ammunition in one of their pockets. Another officer found a gun that had been tossed in the yard.  Police say the other two suspects drove down the street in the Red 1998 Ford Explorer described by the victim. An officer stopped the SUV. All six suspects were taken to the Police Services Center for interviews.

During the interviews, the suspects reportedly confessed to a string of armed robberies  committed over the last two months including a home invasion on an elderly blind woman on South Germantown Road on Wednesday.

The 86 year old woman was alone when she heard someone at her front door. She checked the door thinking it was her granddaughter and she was attacked by three men rushing in on her.  The woman fell into the kitchen and got up. Police say one of the men shoved her into the living room where he stood over her with a gun screaming "where's the money" while the other two men ransacked the house.

The woman told them the only money she had was in her purse. The suspects took her money, credit cards and the wedding ring from her finger. During the interview, investigators saw one of the juvenile suspects wearing the wedding ring.  Police searched one of the suspect's homes and found a rifle along with other weapons used in these robberies.
