UPDATE: Tennessee American Water crews have repaired an outage that left customers in the Stringers Ridge area without water on Friday.

"If customers experience air or discoloration, they should run a COLD tap until it runs clear which should take only a few minutes," TAW spokesperson Daphne Kirksey said. "We recommend a faucet with strong flow like bathtub."

Kirksey says TAW crews will be flushing the hydrants at the main that was repaired "to clear air or discoloration."


PREVIOUS UPDATE: Tennessee American Water said in en email Friday afternoon:

“We continue to work on the repair and anticipate into the evening as we work safely and as quickly as possible to restore water service.”


PREVIOUS STORY: TN American Water customers in the Stringers Ridge area are experiencing a water outage after a contractor, not affiliated with the water company, hit a water pipe.

Customers in the Stringers Ridge, Whitehall and Pineville Roads areas may experience low to no water pressure while they complete the repair.

TN American Water says repairs could last into the early evening hours.
