The first local baby of the New Year was born at Parkridge East Hospital Wednesday morning.

A spokesperson for the hospital says Harmony Marvae Goode was born at 2:30 a.m. on New Year's Day.

Baby Harmony weighed in at 6 pounds, 6 ounces and just over 20 inches long.

She and her mother, Jalonnie Mack, are resting at the hospital.

Harmony’s father, Christopher Goode, says the family is ecstatic about welcoming their daughter to the world and that her big sister, Heaven Mack, can’t wait to meet her.
