UPDATE: Man arrested for DUI after crashing into a Sequatchie County Deputy cruiser
UPDATE: Sequatchie County Sheriff's Office arrested a man for Driving Under the Influence on Wednesday morning on Highway 111 at the intersection of Highway 399.
Sheriff Coy M. Swanger reports that Sgt. Steven Billingsley was assisting a Tennessee Highway Patrol officer at the time of the crash.
Sheriff Swanger says Billingsley's vehicle was parked on the right shoulder of the highway with his blue lights activated that's when a vehicle being driven by Matthew C Davis struck Sgt. Billingsley’s vehicle from behind.
The patrol vehicle that was driven by Sgt. Billingsley was damaged along with another one vehicle on the scene. The vehicle driven by Davis had also sustained damage.
Tennessee Highway Patrol conducted the investigation of the crash Davis was arrested for DUI.
He was also cited for other traffic-related charges.
PREVIOUS STORY: The Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department says a deputy was struck by a car Tuesday while working an accident on Highway 111 and Highway 399.
The department says Sgt. Steven Billingsley was not hurt.
The driver was arrested for DUI.
