TRAFFIC UPDATE: Hwy 27 North reopens after vehicle fire near Signal Mtn. Road exit
UPDATE: A reported vehicle fire shut down a portion of Highway 27 on Tuesday night.
The fire happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. on the northbound side near the Signal Mountain Road exit.
A TDOT SmartWay camera shows that all northbound lanes in the area have reopened to traffic; however, the shoulder remains blocked.
All lanes on the northbound side were closed for more than an hour as crews responded to the scene.
Injuries are unknown at this time.
TDOT expects to have the highway reopened around 10:30 p.m.
