According to court documents, 36-year-old Brandon Thomas York is charged with False Imprisonment, Kidnapping, and Theft of Property over $10,000.

On Monday evening, Chattanooga Police were called by a man on the phone with a woman claiming to be kidnapped. She told him she was in the lobby of the Motel 6 on Williams Street.

When police arrived on the scene, she told them she had been kidnapped by York from her home on Breezy Hollow Lane two weeks ago.

She told officers York kept her in multiple motels against her will, including the Motel 6 and Baymont Hotel on Shallowford Road.

By Monday night, officers were trying to reach York, who had barricaded himself inside a room at the Motel 6.

Alan Gower had just arrived in town from Michigan. He was staying at a motel across the street.

"We pulled in about 9 p.m. and we could see the cop cars down at Kentucky Fried Chicken and the gas station," Gower said. "Next thing we know, we saw a whole bunch of cars everywhere."

When York refused to cooperate, a SWAT team was called in.

Gower said officers threw tear gas through York's window.

York eventually surrendered. He was brought out of the motel in handcuffs around 11:40 p.m.

As of Noon Monday, York was still being held in the Hamilton County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Chattanooga police could not provide an update on the woman's condition or if she has any relation to York.
