The McKamey Animal Center is investigating a case of dog fighting after a dog was found with traumatic injuries on the side of a road in Chattanooga.

McKamey officials say the female pit bull was found abandoned on November 18, in a pile of garbage on Lightfoot Mill Road.

The dog had wounds that appeared to be from dog fighting.

McKamey officials say the area where the dog was found appears to be a site for dog fighters to leave injured or dead dogs after a fight.

A reward of $1,000 is being offered to anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
