UPDATE: Tennessee Forestry says the fire is contained.

The cause is undetermined.

PREVIOUS STORY: Dunlap fire officials are hoping rain will help them put out a slow moving woods fire on Smith Mountain Thursday night.

The fire was reported around 6:00 p.m. off Windridge Road.

Officials say it started at the top of the mountain near the Bledsoe County line.

Officials say the fire is 3-5 acres in size “and is over the bluff.”

A rake crew from forestry is plowing firebreaks while two dozer crews are being kept on standby.

Officials say with rain coming and firebreaks in place, the fire should be out soon.
