A tractor-trailer fire has shut down I-75 South at the I-24 split on Wednesday night.

Officials say a tractor-trailer that was hauling cables of some kind caught fire on I-24 East around 10:30 p.m.

The burning semi is sitting on I-24 East near Spring Creek Road at mile marker 185.

Officials say I-75 South to the split is being shut down to allow police and fire crews to respond to the scene.

The semi driver is not injured.

TDOT expects to have the road cleared and reopened by 3:33 a.m.
