UPDATE: Abraham Lincoln arrested as bank robbery suspect in Collegedale
UPDATE: Collegedale Police responded to a robbery report at First Horizon Bank off Apison Pike on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Collegedale Police Department, the Hamilton County Communications District received a 911 call reporting that a male suspect told a bank teller that the bank was being robbed.
Collegedale Police were dispatched at 1:43 p.m. and arrived at the scene 36 seconds later.
Upon arrival, the suspect, 51-year-old Abraham Lincoln, surrendered himself to officers.
During the investigation, Lincoln told officers that he didn't actually intend to rob the bank, but rather wanted to go to jail for "past actions in life."
Lincoln was charged with filing a false police report and disorderly conduct.
