UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in crash on Interstate 24
UPDATE: Chattanooga police are investigating a crash that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist at 18400 Interstate 24 eastbound on November 16, 2019, shortly after 4:30 p.m.
The CPD Traffic Unit responded to the scene and say a motorcyclist was traveling near mile marker 184 at a rate of speed when the motorcycle struck the rear of a semi-truck.
Investigators say the motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene by Hamilton County EMS.
The truck driver was unaware that his truck was hit, and he kept driving but soon realized that his semi was hit and stopped immediately according to police.
Police say a third vehicle was struck by debris from the crash, no injuries were reported.
The truck driver did not suffer any injuries.

Chattanooga PD Public Information Officer Elisa Myzal says the crash was a two-vehicle incident involving a tractor-trailer.
The crash is at mile marker 184 and the scene is expected to be cleared by 7:00 p.m.
