A man was rescued from the Tennessee River in downtown Chattanooga on Wednesday night.

It happened in the 100 block of Riverfront Parkway shortly after 7:00 p.m.

EMS officials say a man, who is believed to be in his 60s, was pulled from the water near Ross's Landing and the Tennessee Aquarium.

Officials say the man is okay but could have hypothermia.

He's been taken to a local hospital.

The man's name has not been released.

It's unclear how the man ended up in the river at this time.
