Grundy County commissioner Charles Cordell was arrested on multiple assault charges after a family dispute on November 8.

According to the incident report, Cordell struck his granddaughter's boyfriend during an argument, shoving him against the wall and choking him.

Cordell struck his granddaughter as she was trying to break up the fight.

During the fight, Cordell knocked over a stroller that the boyfriend had just placed his two-month daughter in.

The reporting officer says he noticed marks on both the granddaughter and her boyfriend.

Cordell is charged with two counts of domestic violence, two counts of aggravated assault, and one count of reckless endangerment.
