UPDATE: A rockslide that closed a portion of Highway 64 in Polk County, TN has reopened.

TDOT spokesperson Jennifer Flynn tells Channel 3 that the slide was small. A truck struck one of the rocks from the slide.

Flynn says no injuries have reported at this time. Crews have cleared the road and traffic is back to normal in the Ocoee Gorge.


PREVIOUS STORY: A rockslide early Monday morning has closed a portion of Highway 64 in Polk County, TN.

Dispatch reports the slide occurred 6:30 a.m. between mile marker 11 and 11 1/2 which is near Ocoee #3 lake. 

An 18-wheeler and a car ran into the rocks on the roadway. 

There is damage to the road. 

TDOT, THP, and other emergency crews are on scene.

An estimated time for the road to open back up is unknown.
