Boyd Buchanan is no stranger to playoff football, but it seemed like a long shot after going a combined 2-18 the last two seasons. Led by first-year head coach Jeremy Bosken, the Bucs have completely turned things around, going 8-2 in the regular season earning a home playoff game with Lipscomb Academy coming to town.

The Mustangs came in 5-5, but their record did not reflect who they are as a football team. Led by Super Bowl XXXV champion Trent Dilfer, the 'Stangs opened up a 14-0 first quarter lead on Boyd Buchanan.

The Bucs turned to their Mr. Football semifinalist to lead them back. Eli Morris found Eli Evans for a score to halve the Mustangs lead.

Lipscomb Academy would add to it, but Morris to Evans again set up a Morris TD, and Boyd Buchanan found themselves only down 20-14 at halftime.

The Mustangs scoring attack did not stop in the second half. A JaMichael McGoy kickoff return for a touchdown would only be a band-aid as Lipscomb Academy comes into Boyd Buchanan and ends the Bucs season, 41-27.

Boyd Buchanan finishes the season 8-3 after going 0-10 just a year ago. A lot to be proud of and they surely have a bright future ahead under the guidance of Bosken.
