UPDATE: 35th Annual Share Your Christmas™ food drive surpasses 2018 donations
UPDATE: Channel 3's 35th annual Share Your Christmas™ (SYC) food drive was a huge success on Friday, surpassing the amount of donations that came in during last year's event.
This year's SYC event brought in $85,937 in monetary donations, 69,970 pounds of food donations and 401,556 meals.
All of the donations go to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank to help feed families in-need in both Tennessee and Georgia.
If you were unable to make it out to the food drive, you can still help the Food Bank by making a monetary donation online.

ORIGINAL STORY: WRCB Channel 3 is teaming up with the Chattanooga Area Food Bank once again for the annual Share Your Christmas™ food drive.
This year’s drive is set for Friday, Dec. 6. For the first time, the Chattanooga drop off location will be at the Chattanooga Area Food Bank’s warehouse, located at 2009 Curtain Pole Road, Chattanooga, Tenn., 37406, off Amnicola Highway.

Started just two years after the Chattanooga Area Food Bank was founded, Share Your Christmas™ is one of the longest running and most successful food drives around, thanks to the kind and giving spirit of the people of the Tennessee Valley and north Georgia.
Last year's effort brought in more than $289,521.86 and 214,679 pounds of food, which provided more than 871,772 meals to people in need.
We ask you to once again open your hearts and cupboards to help your neighbors who struggle to put food on the table.

From 4:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, Channel 3 will accept cash and food donations for the Food Bank.

Food collected in Dalton and Cleveland will go to agencies serving the people of those areas, so you can be assured you're helping the people in your community.
Non-perishable food items or cash donations directly help the members of our community who don’t know where their next meal will come from.
Last year, the Food Bank distributed 15.7 million pounds of food, the equivalent of approximately 13.1 million meals, to those in need. A portion of this food is received through community food drives like Share Your Christmas.

Each year, the Food Bank distributes more than 10 million pounds of food, the equivalent to 9 million meals, to those in need and handed out nearly 21,000 emergency food boxes. A portion of this food is received through community food drives like Share Your Christmas.

The Chattanooga Area Food Bank leads a network of partners in eliminating hunger and promoting better nutrition across 20 counties in southeast Tennessee and northwest Georgia.
Food Bank programs include Sack Pack and Summer Feeding programs to combat childhood hunger; mobile pantries for children, families and seniors; Emergency Food Boxes for individuals and families with urgent food needs; and providing support to more than 240 agency partners for their pantries and feeding programs.
