Local auto group to donate pet oxygen masks to Chattanooga fire department
The Chattanooga Fire Department is expanding its supply of pet oxygen masks, thanks to a donation from Kelly Subaru.
Spokesperson Lindsey Rogers says pets are our families so it's important for crews to have this life-saving equipment on the scene of fires.
She says all of the fire trucks will have animal oxygen masks available for use.
The pet oxygen masks are specifically designed to be used on conscious pets that have suffered from smoke inhalation and pets that need to be resuscitated after losing consciousness from exposure to dangerous toxic fumes.
Kelly Auto Group will be donating to the masks to the department on Wednesday, November 6, at 10 AM at Kelly Subaru (900 Riverfront Parkway).
This initiative is in conjunction with Subaru's National Campaign, "Subaru Loves Pets."
