UPDATE: A missing 12-year-old boy in Murray County has been found on Thursday night.

Sheriff Gary Langford confirms that Matthew Hopkins has been found.

Hopkins was reported missing around 6:00 p.m. from the Ball Ground Road area.

ORIGINAL STORY: Several agencies are searching for a missing child in Murray County on Thursday night.

Sheriff Gary Langford tells Channel 3, 12-year-old Matthew Hopkins left home around 4:45 p.m. in the 1000 block of Ball Ground Road and hasn't been seen since.

Sheriff Langford says the child’s family reported him missing around 6:00 p.m.

According to the missing persons report, Hopkins is described as 5'5" tall and weighs around 125 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. He was wearing a blue t-shirt with cartoon characters, gray sweatpants and "black slide on shoes."

Sheriff Langford says Hopkins is autistic and nonverbal.

Langford says several agencies are looking for the child, searching by air and on foot.
