Officials approve rezoning application for building of Walden Town Center
Walden town officials voted to approve the rezoning application for the proposed Walden Town Center on Tuesday night.
Officials voted 2-1 to approve the application with Vice Mayor Lee Davis being the “no” vote. Mayor William Trohanis and Alderwoman Sarah McKenzie voted in favor of the $15 million development.
The application was approved with conditions.
The planned development will include a full-service grocery store, fuel station, retail or medical offices and a public park.
Officials say groundbreaking details and the name of the retailer will be announced in the coming weeks.
