Rain and storms expected Wednesday and Thursday
A warm front lifts tonight, bringing light rain to the Tennessee Valley on Wednesday morning between 7AM and 9AM. There is a chance for storms in the afternoon. These will be good ole fashioned t-storms producing high rain rates, lightning, and some gusty winds. There is currently not a risk of severe weather during the day Wednesday. Plan for a slow go for the evening commute tomorrow, though!
A cold front will be sweeping in on Thursday. This means rain and thunderstorms will be possible overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning. It will be a slow go for the morning commute on Thursday.
There is a Marginal Risk of severe weather on Thursday for folks east of I-75. Mid-morning through early afternoon, 2PM-3PM looks to be the best chance. Storms look to be tapering off by 3PM-6PM east as the cold front tracks east. There will be post-frontal rain behind this front though. The good news with post-frontal rain, it will be just that, a cold rain. Plan for light rain, cooler temperatures, and breezy conditions for Trick or Treaters this Halloween. If you live east near Cleveland, Ocoee area, even Murphy, t-storms will be possible through 7PM. Here is the rain forecast for this midweek event.
Be sure to add the WRCB Weather app to your phone or table to stay ahead of the storms.
