Chattanooga police investigating vandalism of downtown businesses
The entrance of Pinnacle Bank at the corner of 8th and Broad Street in downtown Chattanooga was shot with a BB gun.
The Chattanooga Police Department says this is the second report of vandalism near the intersection within the last week.
Steve Hunt, the building manager for Berry and Hunt, has properties across Chattanooga, including Pinnacle Bank. He says this isn't the first time one of his buildings has been hit.
Five of his downtown locations he manages have been vandalized within the past few months including: CWC at 631 Broad Street, Thompson Engineering at 232 E. 11th Street, Pinnacle Bank at 801 Broad Street, Liberty Tower at 605 Chestnut Street and Republic Centre at 1210 Broad Street.
Hunt says evidence left at the locations leads him to believe the vandals used a BB gun.
In July, Channel 3 reported that a BB gun was used to break windows at Chicken Salad Chick, just a block away from the bank.
Michael J. Davis was charged in the case and is expected to appear in court next month.
Hunt says insurance is taking care of the cost of damage. He is asking if anyone knows who's responsible for this latest case to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525.
