Thursday night is Halloween, and there are so many traditions that you guys have.  I wanted to share some of them.  I also wanted to know whether or not you celebrate Halloween.  Here are some of your responses from Facebook.

Ashley said, “We watch Halloween movies, take our daughter trick or treating. We usually go to a pumpkin patch and pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve.”

Shannon said, “Halloween is my favorite holiday!!!! It all starts with putting out lights and scary decor in yard, followed by scary movies all month, visiting the haunted houses and hayrides and the peace de la resistance.....CANDY CORN!!!!! Oh yea baby.”

Susan said, “We always go to the block party in Cleveland & have a great time!”

Sandra said, “My husband and I are licensed amateur ham radio operators. We work the block party in Cleveland every year helping locate parents of lost children or whatever anybody else needs.”

Mike said, “Eating my coworkers kids candy.”

Renee said,  “I set cream out in a dish All Hallows Eve for the fae folk. My Mamaw told me about it passed down from her Irish line.”

Donna said, “Don’t really celebrate.”

Tammy said, “We don't participate.”

Jason said, “As followers of Christ "Christians" we do not feel it is appropriate to associate with nor celebrate Halloween in any way.”

Rosa said, Halloween is my favorite holiday! Dressing up is the best part! Then I buy candy on sale afterward to use in Christmas stockings because I’m thrifty like that.

Sharon said, Charlie Brown and Hocus Pocus!

Amanda wins.  She said, “I love dressing up as the wicked witch of the west. I sit on my porch with a crystal ball and completely still until the kiddos approach...then I let out a cackle that scares the dickens out of them. Extra candy for those that approach after the witch laugh!”

My 3 Cents? I’ve done both.  When my kids were really little we chose not to participate in Halloween, but when they got older we did.  I get that there are people strongly opposed to Halloween, and people strongly in favor of having a good time on Halloween.  My 3 cents?  We don’t need to judge others for what they believe on this issue.  People who see Halloween as an evil holiday don’t need to put down others for not seeing it that way, but people who do celebrate Halloween need to respect the fact that some people have legitimate issues with it.  There’s no reason we can’t all have a great October 31st in our own way.

That's my 3 Cents.  If you have something you want to rant about, let me hear it!  Give me a call at 423-643-9722 and give me your 3 Cents.
