Collegedale police arrested a federal fugitive who led officers on a chase that ended with a crash on Saturday.

Police say they found 46-year-old Denis Collins while trying to make a traffic stop.

Police say Collins refused to stop but was quickly caught after he crashed his vehicle and tried to run from the scene.

The suspect told police he had an active narcotics warrants by US Marshals and was facing 20 years in prison.

Police say Collins also had warrants out of Bradley and Rhea counties.

Collins was booked at the Collegedale Police Department on charges of Evading Arrest in Motor Vehicle, Evading Arrest on Foot, Kidnapping and other misdemeanor traffic offenses.

Collins was then taken to the Hamilton County Jail.

This is the second federal fugitive to be arrested by Collegedale police in the last two weeks.
