Erlanger eliminates 30 jobs in restructuring effort
A management 'restructuring' at Chattanooga's Erlanger hospital has resulted in 30 positions being eliminated.
The layoffs were announced Monday and are effective this month.
Erlanger President and CEO Will Jackson, M.D., said today’s management realignment effort at the Chattanooga-based health system will better position Erlanger to meet the changing landscape of healthcare and focus on providing exceptional care.
“Over the past few months we have re-examined the management structure of our organization in detail, and we are confident this action will enable us to act more decisively and efficiently for the benefit of our patients and community,” Jackson said.
Erlanger Board Chairman Mike Griffin said, “Dr. Jackson has the full support of the Board in making these very tough decisions.”
Jackson says the move will better position Erlanger to meet the changing landscape of healthcare.
