UPDATE: Chattanooga police have released more information on a shooting investigation that began on Monday, after a woman showed up at a local hospital with a bullet wound.

The incident happened around 5:15 p.m. in the 4700 block of Brainerd Road.

The 22-year-old victim told police that she was checking a flat tire when she heard a gunshot and realized she’d been hit.

Police say the victim drove herself to a hospital.

Police say officers tried to find the scene of the shooting but were unable to do so.

ORIGINAL STORY: Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting on Monday night after a victim showed up to a local hospital with a bullet wound.

CPD spokesperson Trevor Tomas tells Channel 3, a female victim arrived at a hospital on Monday night with a gunshot wound.

Tomas says police have not been able to figure out where the shooting happened.

According to the Hamilton County 911 log, a 'delayed shooting' was reported at 5:10 p.m. from the 8100 block of East Brainerd Road.

Police have not confirmed that the victim was shot in the area.

The victim's condition has not been released.

Police say more information will be released when it becomes available.
