UPDATE: Chase in Georgia ends in crash in Hamilton County
UPDATE: One person injured in a crash early Tuesday morning suffered severe burns. Fort Oglethorpe Police say an officer tried to stop the car that three young men ranging in ages 19 to 23 were riding in when the driver began driving erratically including driving on the wrong side of the road. The chase ended on E.38th Street when the car hit a power pole, flipped and burst into flames.
One of the passengers had to be cut out of the burning vehicle. The driver, identified as Douglas Cody Gass, took off of foot. Several warrants are already pending, with more to follow.
ORIGINAL STORY: A chase out of Georgia Monday night ended in a crash in Hamilton County sending two people to the hospital.
According to Hamilton County dispatch the call about the crash came in just after 11:00 p.m.
An official on the scene tells Channel 3 the chase began in Fort Oglethorpe.
The condition of the people taken to the hospital is unknown at this time.
