UPDATE: Highway 27 North in Rhea County has reopened on Friday following a crash involving a school bus.

It happened near Macedonia Road shortly after 4:00 p.m.

The Rhea County Sheriff’s Department says no students were hurt, but the driver of the other vehicle involved was injured.

The RCSD says all of the students were checked out by EMS at the scene and some were taken to a hospital by their parents as a precaution.

The condition of the injured driver has not been released.

The crash closed all northbound lanes, diverting traffic to the southbound side. All lanes have reopened.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
