The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a deadly crash involving three Dade County High School seniors on Thursday.

It happened around 6:20 p.m. in the 700 block of Daniels Road.

Dade County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. Chad Payne says two cars were involved in the crash and one of the three students was killed.

Dade County School Superintendent Dr. Jan Harris tells Channel 3, the students were driving to the school’s homecoming celebration when the crash happened.

Dr. Harris says two of the students were members of the school’s band.

Dr. Harris says chaplains were brought to the school to help students as they comforted each other after learning of the news.

The conditions of the other two students is unknown at this time.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

No names have been released.
