Chatsworth police are investigating an attempted kidnapping that happened last week.

According to the incident report, it happened on Thursday off Old Dalton Ellijay Road.

Channel 3 found a public Facebook post from Tiffany Hunt of Chatsworth, which describes everything that happened.

In the post, Hunt says the female victim flagged her down and came up to her car while she was driving. The girl said a man tried to take her.

The victim told Hunt she was jogging when the man came up behind her and put his hand over her mouth. The victim fought back but was punched in the face.

Hunt told the victim to get in the car and that’s when they noticed a red vehicle drive by.

Hunt and the victim followed the vehicle as long as they could until traffic cut them off.

Hunt describes the man as a Hispanic with a smaller to average build who was wearing glasses.

Police are hoping more witnesses will come forward and advise the public to be on the lookout for a red vehicle that is possibly a Toyota Corolla.

If you see the suspect or have any information about this case, please call Detective Dill with the Chatsworth Police Department at 706-722-3031.
