Local retired firefighter competes in Ms. Wheelchair Tennessee
A retired Chattanooga fire firefighter participated in this year's Ms. Wheelchair Tennessee.
Captain Shellie Thorne has inspired many people in the community as she recovered from a terrible motorcycle accident last summer that paralyzed her.
She was one of five contestants in Ms. Wheelchair Tennessee and the only person from our area competing.
Shellie did an amazing job and was first runner up.
She also received Ms. Congeniality as well as the People’s Choice Award.
The event was held at the Morning Pointe of East Hamilton in Ooltewah.
