UPDATE: Police are searching for the person who shot a woman on Youngstown Road.

Police said the 45-year-old woman reported a man she was traveling with forced her out of a vehicle and shot her just after 9:30 Saturday night.

The woman ran away and yelled for help.

According to police, people in the area heard the woman yelling for help and called 9-1-1.

Police said the woman is expected to be okay.

The Chattanooga Police Department says the victim was a female.

She was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

CPD says they are searching for a suspect.

They say the shooting wasn’t random and there is no danger to the public.
