Tennessee American Water crews are being called to a water main break in East Ridge on Friday.

TAW spokesperson Daphne Kirksey says the 6-inch break happened on Lanoir Street.

Kirksey says some customers may experience a water outage when repairs begin.

Kirksey says the number of customers that could be affected is very small.

While at the scene, Channel 3's crew saw flooding in the area because of the break.

Repairs are expected to take a few hours and then water will be restored once crews are finished.

The cause of the break is unknown at this time.
