UPDATE: I-59 in Dade County reopens after tractor-trailer fire creates threat to roadway
UPDATE: All lanes of I-59 in Dade County have reopened on Thursday, following a brush fire.
It started when a tractor-trailer fire spread to the shoulder of the road and up an embankment near MM 14 on the southbound side of the interstate.
The Dade County Sheriff's Office says the interstate reopened around 5:00 p.m.

A tractor-trailer fire spread the shoulder of the road and up an embankment near MM 14 on the southbound lanes. A small section of the median was also involved.
One lane re-opened to traffic after firefighters worked to control the blaze.
Dry conditions in the Tennessee Valley didn't help matters much, but there may be some rain later Thursday afternoon.
