Friends of missing Cleveland woman grow weary in wake of close death
Just two days after a Cleveland man’s body was found, friends of a missing woman police say was last seen with him are becoming more and more worried with no sign of her yet.
“Nobody’s heard anything,” Markcloud’s longtime friend Evie Helton told Channel 3.
She says recent phone calls to her friend of almost 20 years have gone unanswered with no response from Jaclyn since Saturday.
“I’ve called her cellphone numerous times. I’ve called on Facebook numerous times,” Helton said.
Witnesses told Cleveland Police that Saturday was also when they last saw Markcloud with 38 year-old James Ledford. Ledford’s body was found in a car on Monday with what officials believe appeared to be a gunshot wound.
His death is now being investigated as a homicide, leaving friends of Markcloud very concerned.
“I found out yesterday from my sister and since then I’ve just been sick to my stomach,” Helton tearfully recalled.
She told Channel 3 that Markcloud’s sudden disappearance is an unfathomable thought because it’s not like the mother of two at all.
“She’s a very good person and we need answers. We need to know if she’s okay. It’s not like her to take off and not tell anybody anything,” she explained.
With the recent passing of her children’s father, Helton says she’s just hoping the best for her best friend.
“I always trust my gut and I just don’t have a good feeling,” she said.“She’s gotta come home safe. She has to. Her kids need her. I need her.”
Cleveland Police say Jaclyn was last seen between Saturday, September 21st and Sunday, September 22nd.
She is 5’9” and weighs about 263 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
If you have any information on where she may be you are urged to call the Cleveland Police Department.
