East Ridge police arrested four juveniles for an attempted carjacking on Friday.

Chief Stan Allen says officers were investigating a report of suspicious people who were walking in the Ridgeside area when a call came in about an attempted carjacking.

Chief Allen says officers responded to the call and had three out of four suspects in custody within minutes.

Chief Allen says the fourth suspect was arrested later in the day by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

HCSO spokesperson Matt Lea confirms a male student was arrested on Friday for having a loaded gun at Washington Alternative School.

Lea says that student was placed in the custody of East Ridge police “for questioning regarding an incident that occurred off campus” earlier Friday morning.

Chief Allen confirms that the fourth suspect was the student who was arrested for having a gun on campus.

Chief Allen says all four suspects are facing charges of Aggravated Assault and Attempted Aggravated Robbery.
