A newly-constructed ramp section at Exit 1C on U.S. 27 South is opening today, changing the traffic pattern for people who want to access 4th Street, 6th Street and MLK Boulevard West from U.S 27 South.

Southbound travelers will continue to access 4th Street using Exit 1C, but the new ramp section extends the exit to 6th Street / Gateway Avenue.

The ramp's intersection with 6th Street has a new traffic light that allows drivers to turn left to travel to downtown or turn right on Gateway Avenue.

BlueCross BlueShield employees traveling via U.S. 27 South will exit at Exit 1C to get to work.

MLK Boulevard East is accessible using Exit 1B.

The previous ramp (the one currently being used) will permanently close tomorrow.
