The Imagination Library of Rhea County is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. They are also kicking-off a campaign to "Build the Bus" - a mobile book bus that will travel the county year-round for all ages, giving free books to everyone. There are similiar book buses in neighboring counties, and the one from Bledsoe County stopped by the Clyde Roddy Library in Dayton on Wednesday, encouraging Rhea County citizens to fund a $20,000 campaign to equip a bus with books, shelves, and everything else needed to form a mobile library.

Organizer Linda Abel says the committee aims for the bus to serve all members of the community, from children to adults, to senior adults. The bus was donated by Rhea County schools, but needs outdoor wrapping, and interior supplies, plus ongoing maintenance.

The group hopes to have the Rhea County book bus up and running by next spring.  The Imagination Library celebrated the kickoff with prizes for the program's 150,000th book recipient since it began 15 years ago.
