UPDATE: The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation identified the victim as 76-year-old James Hilton Glaze.

Around 2 p.m. on September 14, deputies responded to reports of a suicidal man.

Upon arrival, deputies encountered Glaze who pointed a weapon at them.

When Glaze pointed the weapon, deputies shot him.


PREVIOUS STORY: Officials from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office are currently on the scene of a deputy-involved shooting in Ooltewah, Tennessee.

Deputies say they responded to a call involving a suicidal person. The shooting occurred around 2 p.m.

One suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. All personnel from the Sheriff's office are safe and accounted for. 

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating this incident.

The deputies involved will be placed on administrative leave with pay.
