Erlanger CEO Kevin Spiegel resigns as top executive
Erlanger Health System President and CEO Kevin Spiegel has resigned from his post at Chattanooga's only public hospital after six and a half years, according to Erlanger Board Chairman Mike Griffin.
The meeting that was scheduled tonight at Erlanger at 6 p.m. is cancelled, Griffin said.
Spiegel's departure comes less than two weeks after trustees held another special meeting to discuss the CEO's future; however, pro-Spiegel pleas were ultimately unable to save his job after patient safety concerns brought forward by a group of leading physicians surfaced in June.
