UPDATE: Evening storm causes downed trees, power outages across Tennessee Valley
Storms in the Tennessee Valley are causing some outages on Wednesday evening.
A tree limb fell down and has W. Bell Avenue off of Cherokee Boulevard closed in both directions.
There are also reports of some wires down in the 3600 block of Dayton Boulevard and several limbs have fallen in the yards of homes off Roberts Mill Road.
As of 11:30 p.m., the following outages have been reported:
North Georgia EMC is reporting 1443 outages, with 640 in Whitfield County, 16 in Murray County, 547 in Catoosa County, 32 in Walker County, and one outage in Chattooga County.
The EPB outage map shows:
- Significant outages in Red Bank
- Scattered outages in North Chattanooga
- Scattered outages in the Harrison/Highway 58 area
- Minimal outages in Hixson
- Minimal outages in East Brainerd
EPB crews are working to fix the outages.
Volunteer Electric Cooperative (VEC) is reporting 231 outages with 64 in Rhea County and 157 in Bradley County.
