Former private school teacher indicted for sexual assault of a student
UPDATE: A former private school teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student has been indicted by a grand jury on Tuesday.
According to the Catoosa County court clerk, Tina Gentry is charged with one count of sexual assault of a student.
According to an incident report, the relationship was reported to the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office in June.
Gentry is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student during her time as a teacher at Dogwood Christian Academy, where she taught 11th and 12th grades along with music, according to the school's website.
That website has since been removed and according to a school administrator, Gentry resigned from her positions in April due to health issues.
This isn't the first incident investigated at Dogwood Christian Academy.
Two children claimed they were assaulted on campus by a construction worker name Anthony Stanley in August 2016.
He was a registered sex offender out of Whitfield County.
Stanley was accused of touching the two girls inappropriately.
