LaFayette High School graduate killed in crash while evacuating for Hurricane Dorian
Family and friends are mourning the loss of former Lafayette High School and current Savannah State University student, Karissa Tatum.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Tatum was evacuating home to LaFayette with two friends last Sunday ahead of Hurricane Dorian, when her car hydroplaned on I-16 and hit a tree.
Tatum later died at a hospital in Savannah on Wednesday.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and again from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home on Battlefield Parkway.
Funeral services will follow on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
