Parkridge Medical Center will be hosting Crush the Crisis Opioid Take-Back Day on Saturday.

In an effort to prevent overdoses, law enforcement officers will be onsite to help with the collection and disposal of unused medications. 

According to the Tennessee Department of Health, 1,777 people in Tennessee died from overdoses in 2017. It's the highest annual number of death since reporting began. 

Data shows 1,268 overdose deaths were related to opioids. 

This event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Parkridge Medical Center on McCallie Ave.
