Chattanooga firefighters are working a tractor-trailer rollover accident at Compress Street and Riverside Avenue that happened about 10:20am Friday.

There are environmentally sensitive products on board the trailer, so special precautions are being taken in the cleanup process.

This is the third such accident in the same area.

Crews are working to dig and create an area for containment. The truck appears to have missed the turn and rolled over onto its left side.

The driver of the truck was sent to the hospital to get checked out, according to the CFD's Lindsey Rogers.

Fire officials say they’ve worked several rollover incidents involving semi-trucks at this location over the past year.

Parts of Riverside Avenue and Compress Street are closed in the immediate vicinity of the incident.

Drivers should avoid the area.
