East Ridge police are investigating a fiery crash involving two vehicles on Tuesday night.

It happened around 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of South Moore and Ringgold roads.

Police say they arrived at the scene to find one of the vehicles involved on fire with no one inside and the other vehicle on its top with a person on the ground beside it.

Police say bystanders were able to get the person out of the vehicle before it caught on fire.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze and EMS treated an injured patient.

One person was taken to a hospital.

Police have not said what caused the crash.
