No head coach, no problem for Heritage in second win ever over Ringgold
For the 12th time, Heritage and Ringgold battled on the gridiron in front of a standing room only crowd at Jeff Sims Field at Heritage High School. The Tigers have won ten of the last eleven, with the Generals winning the last one on their turf.
The first quarter was a scoring explosion right from the jump. On 4th down, Nick Hanson found Logan Lowe for a touchdown pass that put Heritage up 7-0 quickly.
After a Ringgold fumble, Hanson found Sam Randolph to put Heritage up 13-0.
Ringgold would find its footing behind quarterback Kyle White who would find the end zone on a draw play to get the Tigers on the board. Their following drive Brayden Broome would take a White pass to the end zone and just like that Ringgold went up 14-13.
Not for long, because on the ensuing kickoff Randolph would take it to the house to put Heritage up for good. All these points coming in the first quarter alone.
Randolph would catch a Hanson pass with six seconds left in the half to give Heritage a 27-14 lead.
That's how it would stay as the Generals win their second game over Ringgold in three years.
The Tigers open region play next Friday on the road at North Murray. Heritage stays at home to play Chattooga.
