Local American Red Cross volunteers deployed to Florida to help with Hurricane Dorian
CHATTANOOGA, TN - Volunteers with the local American Red Cross chapter have deployed to Florida to help once Hurricane Dorian makes landfall.
Julia Wright, executive director of the Southeast Tennessee American Red Cross, said two volunteers left for West Palm Beach on Friday morning.
She said those volunteers will help set up shelters for people who have evacuated.
Two other volunteers are on standby to assist if needed.
She said they are getting the emergency response vehicle stocked with items needed.
