Channel 3's LaTrice Currie recovering after medical emergency
Many of you are asking why LaTrice Currie has not been on Channel 3 recently.
LaTrice’s family has given us permission to share with you that she had a medical emergency. She has been in intensive care since August 25 but continues to take steps toward recovery.
We are relieved to tell you that LaTrice is getting stronger by the day and is expected to recover, but it will likely be some time before she is able to rejoin us here at Channel 3.
“LaTrice has been a member of the Channel 3 team for 24 years,” said Pam Teague, WRCB’s General Manager. “She is a member of our family and we love her dearly as we know our viewers do. We will continue to support and encourage LaTrice and her family on this road to recovery.”
“LaTrice is a bright spot in our newsroom and we look forward to having her back,” said Callie Starnes, WRCB News Director. “Our team is behind her all the way.”
LaTrice’s family asks for privacy at this time, but we invite you to send a card to the station. We'll share them with LaTrice.
Viewers and community members have been so kind to respond to our request for cards. We want to ensure LaTrice continues to feel that love and support as she recovers.
Send cards to 900 Whitehall Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee, 37405. We will be sure to share your notes of encouragement with LaTrice when she is ready.
