UPDATE: Ringgold Road reopens after truck crashes into power pole
UPDATE: Ringgold Road has reopened on Tuesday night, following a crash that shut down a portion of the road and took out a power pole.
East Ridge police say a truck carrying an oversized load ran off the road and crashed into a utility pole in the 4100 block.
EPB crews spent hours repairing the damage, which forced them to close one lane of Ringgold Road.
An EPB official says the repairs are finished and all lanes are open.

ORIGINAL STORY: The East Ridge Police Department is investigating a crash that happened in the 4100 block of Ringgold Road Tuesday.
Police say an oversized load truck ran off the road and crashed into a utility pole, which broke the pole in two places.
EPB officials are on the scene working to replace the pole.
According to EPB's outage map, scattered outages are being reported in East Ridge.
EPB officials say the work will continue until about 10:00 PM.
Ringgold Road will be down to one lane in each direction.
Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes.
