Red Bank flexes their offensive muscle in week one rout of Soddy Daisy
Red Bank and Soddy Daisy have been waiting a little over two years to get after each other after weather canceled their 2018 match-up. Both would go on to win their respective region championships, so there was a lot of hype surrounding their 2019 battle.
Both squads come in with a lot of talent on offense, but the Trojans defense was in question, as well as the Lions' production with the departure of Calvin Jackson.
They showed no signs of missing him early in this one. Just three plays into the game senior quarterback Madox Wilkey hooked up with Lucas Brown for a 68-yd touchdown to give Red Bank a 7-0 lead.
Not long after Wilkey and Brown linked up again, this time a 50-yd dime from Wilkey gave the Lions a 14-0 lead and they never looked back.-
A quick two touchdowns in the third quarter put the mercy rule into effect and Red Bank starts 2019 off on the right foot, taking down rival Soddy Daisy 38-7.
The Lions will travel to Ooltewah next Friday and Soddy Daisy will take on East Hamilton.
